Create sign up sheets with Claude
Connect OpenSignup to Claude, then describe what you're organizing in your own words: the dates, the shifts, how many people each one needs. Claude builds the sign-up sheet as a draft for you to check, and you share one link. People sign up the usual way, with no account and no ads.
Connect it in about a minute
OpenSignup is listed in Claude's connectors directory.
- Open OpenSignup in Claude's connectors directory and choose Connect.
- Claude opens an OpenSignup page in your browser. Sign in with your email address. If you're new, this makes your free account.
- The page shows that claude.ai wants to see your signups and their slots, and to create and edit signups. Choose Allow.
- Go back to Claude and describe the sign-up sheet you need.
Claude's menus change from time to time. If the link doesn't open the listing, look for Connectors in Claude and search for OpenSignup.
What to ask for
Write it the way you'd explain it to a friend. For example:
Set up volunteer shifts for our book fair on March 12 and 13: 8 to 11am, 11am to 2pm and 2 to 5pm each day. We need four volunteers per shift.
Claude builds the draft and shows you the slots in a table, something like this:

Why it makes better sign-up sheets
It asks instead of guessing
The connector tells Claude not to make up dates, times or numbers you haven't given it, and to ask you for anything the sign-up sheet needs that you left out.
Reminder emails work
Claude gives each slot a real date, and a time when there is one. That's what OpenSignup uses to send people a reminder email the day before their slot.
One shift, not a pile of copies
When a shift needs four people, Claude makes one shift with four spots, not four copies of the same row. People see at a glance which shifts still need help.
You check it before it goes live
Every new sign-up sheet starts as a draft that people signing up can't see. The connector also tells Claude to check with you before it publishes, closes or deletes anything.
What Claude can and can't see
- It can see your sign-up sheets, their slots, and how many spots are taken.
- It can make new sign-up sheets and change the ones you have.
- It can't see the names or email addresses of the people who signed up. They gave those to you, not to Claude.
- It acts as you, so it can't do anything you couldn't do yourself.
- What it reads from your sign-up sheets goes to Anthropic, the same as anything you type to Claude.
A connection lasts up to 90 days, then you approve it again. To disconnect sooner, choose your email address at the top of any page in your OpenSignup account (on a phone, it says Settings), then Connected apps. Access Claude already holds runs out within 15 minutes.

Frequently asked questions
Is the OpenSignup connector for Claude free?
Yes. OpenSignup is free and has no ads, and connecting it to Claude costs nothing extra.
Does it work on the free Claude plan?
Yes. Claude says connectors from its directory work on every Claude plan, including the free one. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner has to turn connectors on for the organization first. Claude's help center has the latest details.
Do people signing up need Claude or an account?
No. Claude only helps you build the sign-up sheet. People sign up by opening your link and picking a slot, with no account, no app and no AI involved.
Can Claude see who signed up?
No. Claude can see your sign-up sheets and how many spots in each slot are taken, but not the names or email addresses of the people who signed up.
Will Claude publish my sign-up sheet without asking?
A new sign-up sheet starts as a draft that people signing up can't see. The connector tells Claude to check with you before it publishes, closes, archives or deletes anything, and you can always publish it yourself from your OpenSignup account.
Can I change the sign-up sheet myself afterwards?
Yes. It's a normal sign-up sheet in your OpenSignup account. Change it there, or ask Claude to change it for you.
Does it work with Claude Code, ChatGPT or other AI assistants?
Yes. It works in Claude Code and in ChatGPT's developer mode, and it can work in other AI assistants that can add an MCP connector. The OpenSignup help page on connecting an AI assistant has the steps.
